A resident of the Washington DC region for over 35 years, Suri & Ming founder, Maryann Davis, has developed a deep appreciation for the Chesapeake Bay basin and “Eastern Shore.”   She is a long-time supporter of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) which ‘…for over 50 years remains the largest independent conservation organization dedicated solely to saving the Bay.  Serving as a watchdog, [it] fights for effective, science-based solutions to the pollution degrading the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers and streams. CBF’s motto, “Save the Bay,” is a regional rallying cry for pollution reduction throughout the Chesapeake’s six-state, 64,000-square-mile watershed, which is home to more than 18 million people and 3,000 species of plants and animals.’  By donating a percentage of every Suri & Ming sale that incorporates recycled material, she hopes that future generations can continue to enjoy the Bay’s under-water life,  wildlife estuaries, tidal marshes, and vast expanses, with joy and wonder.
